Resistance: Everywhere and All the Time
As resisting on my own behalf became resisting on behalf of
marginalized peoples, I lost sight of what resistance meant to me.
I aggrandized grandiose, organized methods, but Manalansan
redirected me back to something more elementary than that.
Resistance can also be intimate, ephemeral, and without a
static end goal.
Manalansan references interior design and the places one
frequents, but comprehensively, resistance is entangled in everyday expression.
It is the music I listen to, the words I use, the clothes I
wear.
The resistance is me, making it, in a world that seeks to drown
my voice out.
