My Homes As Stolen Land
There are many pieces of land that I
have found home in: land in a city apartment window box, land that apartment is
built upon, land beneath homes I no longer occupy, land on a college campus. I
question how to negotiate relationships with these segments of colonized land.
Places I have called home that our stolen homelands of others.
Robert Warrior argues the importance of
understanding personhood of place; that humanity is not the pinnacle of life,
in this relationship with land. I will look to alternative spaces created by
Indigenous Peoples for knowledge of demands being made of me.
