In “Home/ Not Home:
Centering American Studies Where We Are”, Warrior argues how home isn’t a
physical place, but a metaphysical or intellectual space. “Home for the
Holidays” was home, but not a physical home. Before we make a place to our
home, we must acknowledge the native land we stand on. Home was always my
physical home in L.A. but traveling to Mexico changed my idea of home because I
connected with the history of my family and the community. Home is where you
are, but never forget where you came from and knowing the history of the land.
